The Detroit Month of Design 2021 identity celebrates the growth within the design community while honoring its distinctive roots in culture. Taking inspiration from hand crafted type seen in various signs and murals throughout the city, the goal was to craft open call posters that felt typographically driven and hand-touched.

The typefaces used are designed by Tre Seals of Vocal Type which are inspired by signs seen throughout significant movements for equality in American history.
