Nitra

Channels: Type Design — 2020

Nitra is a contemporary serif inspired by Eastern Slavic cathedrals and cinema. Named after a town in Western Slovakia, Nitra embodies the ornate, pointed, and spacious features of the architecture seen within these spaces. The heavily-stressed, prolonged characters offer a delicacy anchored by its pointed serifs. While the uppercase is robust, the lowercase set offers a more friendly variety of forms to serve various typographic needs. Nitra is best used as a Display Typeface to examine its true architectural forms.
